Kashan

Famous Kashan rugs usually contain a diamond-shaped medallion on a series of curvilinear floral forms, which create a garden-like background. Over four hundred years ago carpet weavers at royal factories began to introduce various technical innovations to cater for demands for more intricate rugs with new non-geometric repeating patterns. Some of the best Kashan rugs are from Ardistan and excellent ones are also produced in Yezd and Kashmar in Khorasan.
